Glossary:

URW’ – Abbreviation of UnReal World, a virtual studio concept of Real World Studios

Net Revenues – The industry standard revenues due to the artists and or producers of the studio project after normal deductions and pro-rations

‘Real World’ – the parent company of URW

Parts’ – musical contributions recorded by you and uploaded for consideration in an UnReal World production.

‘Stem’ – The current mix of the studio project with previously accepted parts which acts as a guide track that you can download from the URW website and record your part along to

‘Producer’ – The person responsible for commencing the Studio Project, directing the musical style of contributions to a studio project, for deciding the best parts to go forward into the studio production and for creating the mix of the final master recording

Final Master’ – The fully completed production with the contributed parts as determined by the Producer

 

  1. Participants must submit their musical contributions (henceforward referred to as “Parts”) by the closing date published on the UnReal World website (henceforward referred to as URW). No submissions will be accepted as eligible after this closing date.
  2. If you are under the age of eighteen (18) you must obtain permission from your parent or guardian before you make any submissions.
  3. By submitting a “Part” the participant will be deemed to have accepted these rules and agree to be bound by them and the site Terms and Conditions.
  4. Any Net Revenues due in respect of the Final Master will be split between the Producer (20%) and all of the participants whose submissions have been included in the Final Master. Each participant will own an equal share of the remaining 80% of the track no matter how small or large their contribution is e.g. if 10 “ parts” are used in the final Master then each participant will receive 8% of the net revenue of the master.
  5. The participants whose “parts” have been used in a final Master will be informed by email. If a participant’s part is not selected they should not expect to be informed personally and RW will not enter into any correspondence relating to this.
  6. The copyright in the Final Master will be owned by Real World unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing.
  7. Participants acknowledge that the copyright in all Stems used as “guide tracks” are, and remain the property of Real World, its Licensors, the relevant Producer and current musical contributors and/or the relevant music publishers at all times
  8. Participants agree and warrant that their parts will not infringe the rights of any third party.
  9. Participants may not in any circumstances use any “Stems” or shared tracks other than for personal use. They may not be incorporated in other works or tracks.
  10. The publishing copyright in the final Master will be determined by the Producer. It will be at their absolute discretion to determine the % shares split between the various chosen contributors. It will always be the intention that these splits will be equitable however you have the right to appeal and withdraw your contribution if necessary. . By making a submission participants implicitly agree to this.
  11. Participants must supply full details as required, and comply with all rules to be eligible for their submissions to be included on any track. No responsibility is accepted for ineligible submissions or submissions made fraudulently. Deeming a Party void is at Real World’s absolute discretion.
  12. Real World does not accept any responsibility for late or lost submissions. Real World shall not be held responsible for any inability to make submissions as a result of computer service, systems and or server failure, error, interruption, defect or delay or any other technical malfunction. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
  13. The Producer and Real World’s decision is final and binding in every situation including any not covered in these rules and no correspondence will be entered into.
  14. Real World reserves the right to change the conditions of this arrangement at any stage if deemed necessary in Real World’s opinion.
  15. Commercial release of the Final Master in any form and in any territory is at the discretion of Real World and the Producer and by allowing your Part to remain in the Final Master you agree to this subject to 4 above.

End User Licence Agreement

These Terms and Conditions are supplemental to our general Terms and Conditions for website use. You can also read our Privacy Policy for details on how we will use your data.

Offer to registered members of the site the right to use the works on the site for the following purposes.

You can (for your own personal purposes):

  • Download for personal use only
  • Play along and record musical parts
  • Upload your work as an entry to this project

Restrictions

You may not:

  • Release for broadcast
  • Publish to the general public
  • Release for sale in any format (No commercial use)
  • Use for advertising
  • Use for Film / TV or any other media

 

IMPORTANT:

This end user licence agreement (“EULA”) is a legal agreement between you and Real World Studios Ltd. Read it carefully before downloading and participating. This agreement grants you a licence to use the ‘stem’ and contains warranty information and liability disclaimers. By downloading and using the stem, you are confirming your acceptance of the terms of this agreement.

Effective date: As per date agreed to.

  • These recordings and composition(s) made available on this site hereafter referred to as the Stem remain the property and copyright of Real World Studios Ltd., the Producer and current contributors and/or the relevant music publishers at all times.
  • Real World Studios Ltd. grant a non-commercial, non-exclusive licence ONLY for personal use of the Stems.
  • You may download them and use them for personal entertainment and enjoyment.
  • No rights are granted to make the Stems or the proceeds of the Stem along with your Parts available to the general public either for general use or for commercial purposes.
  • You acknowledge that Real World shall not be obligated to grant you permission or a licence.
  • You hereby agree to accept the decisions of Real World and in the event that an agreement cannot be reached or permission is denied that you will not make the work available to the public.
  • You agree to indemnify Real World against any third-party costs paid by Real World pursuant to a third party claim which arises as a direct result of a breach by you of the foregoing warranties or representations.
  • Subject only to rights herein above granted to you, all rights of every kind and nature in said Stems are reserved to Real World together with all rights of use thereof.
  • You warrant that you will not make any defamatory use of the Stems.
  • You warrant that you will not infringe anyone’s Intellectual Property Rights in creating your Part.
  • You warrant that you have contractual capacity and are not precluded from entering into this agreement.
  • Subject to the Terms and Conditions above Real World and/or its affiliates, agents or Licensees shall be entitled to distribute the Derivative Works for any purposes in any format whether now known or hereafter invented throughout the world in perpetuity.
  • We may from time to time vary any of these Terms and Conditions for any valid reason. We will notify members of any variation in writing by placing a notice on the website 7 days prior to the variation being effective.
  • By downloading and using the Stems you hereby accept the terms of this agreement.
  • This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England, the courts of which shall be courts of competent jurisdiction.
  • We reserve the right to refuse or remove Parts, files, comments, content of any kind without reference to yourself.
